Doisy Research Center Fact Sheet

The Doisy Research Center stands a testament to Saint Louis University’s commitment to fight human suffering through the discovery of life-saving cures, treatments and strategies to prevent diseases. The state-of-the art facility is named for Edward A. Doisy, a Nobel Laureate and professor at Saint Louis University for five decades. Dr. Doisy was world renowned for his pioneering work in the field of biochemistry and discovery of the chemical nature of vitamin K.

Project Description

Installation of Audio Video Control Systems and Video Conferencing Systems for Saint Louis University.

 The Audio Systems contain an in ceiling distributed Bose’s audio speaker design, for the facility Conference rooms and the 9th floor video conference room. The 9th floor video conferencing room includes wired and wireless microphones, Digital Signal Processor system controlled by a19” touch panel.

The Video Systems Each conference room was designed with a wall mounted 50” plasma monitor.  The 9th floor Tech conference room including a Presentation HD projector and two - 60” plasmas. The video signal is routed with a matrix switch, and scalers to allow the signal to be chosen to one or all the video devices.
A presenter has the ability to show a video image from a Laptop, a Resident CPU, Document Camera, and BlueRay DVD player, Digital VCR, CATV and Satellite.

12”Touch Panel Control System allows source selection and transport control of player devices, with room control such as lights. The touch panel also is a monitor for preview and control for the Video Conferencing Codec.

Video Conferencing System is a standard at SLU. SLU has been doing VTC for years and in this design incorporates the HD format. The Doisy Center included 2 HD VTC units.
